#ParksMatter Little explorers of large green spaces

2025.09.29

As part of the project “City Parks Matter - a new approach to urban green space management in Ivano-Frankivsk and Rzeszów (ParksMatter)”, implemented under the Interreg Next Poland-Ukraine 2021-2027 program, we held another series of colorful and educational events for children on the topic of nature conservation.

On September 22 and 26, students from Lyceum No. 22 actively participated in events in Molodizhny Park, and on September 23, students from Lyceum No. 23 discovered the secrets of Shevchenko Park.

The children started the day with a game called “I am a part of nature,” where each chose an image from the environment - a tree, a bird, or a cloud - and introduced themselves. This helped the children understand that nature is a part of each of us. During a mini-lecture, the students learned why parks are so important for city life, what plants and animals live in green areas, and what rules should be followed to keep them clean and safe.

During the “Eco-Hunt” eco-quest, the students searched for leaves, bird tracks, shades of green, and even the smells and sounds of nature. Exploring the park with magnifying glasses, they discovered the microcosm of insects, flowers, and seeds. The event concluded with art therapy - the creation of bright mandalas from natural materials. The children worked with leaves, flowers, acorns, and twigs, transforming them into true symbols of harmony and beauty.

Such events not only provide new knowledge and emotions, but also foster a love for the environment from an early age.
