#ParksMatter Władysław Szafer Park after revitalisation!
Work on the park in Rzeszów has been completed!
Thanks to the implementation of the project "City Parks Matter - A new approach to urban greenery management in Ivano-Frankivsk and Rzeszów (ParksMatter)", carried out as part of the Interreg NEXT Poland-Ukraine 2021-2027 Programme, Szafer Park has gained a new look that combines its historical character with the needs of today's residents.
As part of the investment:
• new walking paths were created,
• new plantings appeared – young trees, shrubs and perennials supporting local biodiversity,
• infrastructure was renovated: benches, lighting and footpaths,
• the youngest residents gained a modern playground,
• the water reservoir has gained footbridges that diversify the park landscape and increase accessibility!
The space has been tidied up and adapted to today's needs, while respecting the existing old trees.
Thanks to the revitalisation, the park has gained in aesthetics, functionality and ecological value, becoming a place for everyday relaxation, contact with nature and... nature education, which will start in September!
The project, co-financed by the European Union, aims to improve the quality of urban green space management, taking into account climate change and social needs.
