The project's kick-off press conference was held!
On December 2, 2024, a kick-off press conference was held for the project “City Parks Matter - a new approach to urban greenery management in Ivano-Frankivsk and Rzeszów (ParksMatter)”, implemented under the Interreg Next Poland-Ukraine 2021-2027 cross-border cooperation program.
Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv delivered a welcoming speech at the event. Ihor Popadiuk, Director of the Department of Investment Policy, Projects, International Relations, Tourism and City Promotion of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council, and Ruslana Vasyliuk, Director of the Municipal Enterprise “Center for City Development and Recreation”, presented the project “City Parks Matter - a new approach to urban greenery management in Ivano-Frankivsk and Rzeszów (ParksMatter)”, which aims to develop and implement a new sustainable approach to urban greenery management with strengthening of expert competencies and raising environmental awareness.
As part of the project, Molodizhnyi Park will be modernized to create multi-purpose areas, including:
- an inclusive thematic playground, a large playground complex with more than 10 elements, including for children with disabilities.
- eco-towns for outdoor learning: garden beds, compost pit, bird feeders, insect and hedgehog houses, information stands to raise children's environmental awareness.
- zones for people of the “golden age”: tables for board games, special exercise equipment to maintain physical activity, a wooden event platform.
- renovated dog run: new training equipment, reconstructed fences, pavement, benches and trash cans.
- modernization of the sports ground: replacement of the surface and fencing.
- arrangement of an area with exercise equipment and ping-pong tables installation of sunbeds, bicycle parking, and public restrooms.
The ParksMatter project was selected as part of the Interreg Next Poland-Ukraine 2021-2027 program and started on October 1, 2024. The duration of the project is 24 months. The total project budget is EUR 1,168,843.06. The budget for Ivano-Frankivsk is EUR 568,041.32. The Department of Investment Policy, Projects, International Relations, Tourism and City Promotion of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council acted as the Lead Partner in the project, and the Rzeszow Municipality (Poland) as a Partner.
