“Project "Breathe Freely - a joint initiative of the municipalities of Ivano-Frankivsk and Potsdam to ensure a happy childhood”
Another international project has come to an end — one that the Department actively supported and worked hard to successfully implement.
The project “Breathe Freely – a Joint Initiative of the Municipalities of Ivano-Frankivsk and Potsdam to ensure a Happy Childhood” has been completed!
The initiative was implemented with the support of a new partner organization that the Department recently began working with — namely, the non-profit association Engagement Global and its service agency SKEW “Municipalities in One World”, Germany.
A key feature of the project was that it had to be implemented in partnership with a German municipality and within a very short time frame.
The partner city for this project was Potsdam, with which Ivano-Frankivsk signed a partnership agreement in 2023. This marked the first joint effort to launch shared initiatives and foster development in both cities.
About the “Breathe Freely” Project:
We adopted new practices in pediatric anesthesia and observed how medical services are organized at the Ernst von Bergmann Hospital in Potsdam, exchanging valuable experiences with our colleagues.
We studied modern approaches to pediatric anesthesia. A top-level expert in pediatric care conducted a series of trainings for the medical staff of the Children’s Hospital in Ivano-Frankivsk, covering topics such as infusion therapy, seizure syndromes in children, anaphylaxis, trauma care, and child abuse.
Most importantly, we acquired a next-generation mechanical ventilator HAMILTON-C3 for the ICU of the Children’s Hospital, as well as an electrocardiograph, a blood pressure monitor, and pediatric and neonatal pulse oximeters.
All of this will contribute to improved medical services for children, strengthen cooperation between Ivano-Frankivsk and Potsdam in the medical field, and encourage the exchange of best practices in pediatric anesthesia between Ivano-Frankivsk Children’s Hospital and the Ernst von Bergmann Hospital in Potsdam.
We also gained valuable experience!
Thank you all for your support!
