#REBTES Creating a business transfer ecosystem – stakeholder dialogue

2026.03.09

On March 6, the second stakeholders meeting of the interregional cooperation project Developing Regional SME Business Transfer Ecosystems (REBTES)” was held in Ivano-Frankivsk as part of the Interreg Europe program.

The event brought together representatives of public authorities, educational institutions, businesses, and business support organizations to discuss the development of a business transfer ecosystem and the development of effective mechanisms to support the transfer of small and medium-sized businesses.

During the meeting, participants discussed the current state and specifics of business transfer processes, key barriers and challenges, as well as opportunities for development in this area at the regional level. Particular attention was paid to mapping the business transfer ecosystem, analyzing existing support institutions, the level of awareness among entrepreneurs, the accessibility of consulting and financial services, and the impact of legislative and cultural factors on the business transfer process.

Participants were also presented with best good practices in the field of business transfer, in particular the experience of Finland, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Croatia. The discussion focused on research tools, information campaigns, educational programs for business sellers and buyers, as well as institutional models for supporting entrepreneurs in the process of business transfer.

Holding such stakeholders' meetings is an important element of the REBTES project implementation, as they facilitate the exchange of experience, the development of a common vision for the ecosystem of business transfer, and the implementation of practical solutions that can be integrated into local and regional entrepreneurship support policies.
