#REBTES How Business Transfer Ecosystems Are Developing in Europe
As part of the “Development of Regional Ecosystems for the Transfer of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (REBTES)” project, implemented under the Interreg Europe Program, the Ivano-Frankivsk team participated in a study visit and a workshop on knowledge exchange in Utrecht (Netherlands).
During the visit, business transfer was viewed as a key tool for ensuring sustainable economic development, one that not only helps preserve businesses and jobs but also facilitates the transfer of knowledge, experience, and entrepreneurial culture.
Over the course of two days, participants studied European approaches to developing business transfer ecosystems — from shaping local policies and implementing support tools to practical case studies of entrepreneurs and business advisors. The program featured a presentation of the local policy tool Entrepreneur Central and a discussion of financial mechanisms to support business transfers, including access to financing and the role of innovative solutions, such as the use of artificial intelligence in these processes.
Participants paid special attention to the process of mapping the business transfer ecosystem, which allowed for a deeper understanding of the interaction between key stakeholders — government agencies, entrepreneurs, financial institutions, and business support organizations.
The participants also familiarized themselves with the activities of Utrecht Science Park, where they explored approaches to developing an innovative environment and supporting entrepreneurship, and took part in events aimed at establishing cooperation with local policymakers, experts, and the business community.
The study visit served as an important platform for exchanging experiences with European partners, discussing key challenges in the field of business succession, and seeking effective solutions to overcome them.
