#REBTES Partner meeting in Zagreb: joint achievements and new approaches

2025.12.03

As part of the REBTES project "REBTES – Developing Regional SME Business Transfer Ecosystems" implemented within the Interreg Europe programme, on November 25-27, 2025, partners gathered in Zagreb to participate in a three-day study visit. The meeting was aimed at deepening cooperation and exchanging practical experience in the field of business transfer ecosystem development.

During the meeting, participants worked on key topics at the CEPOR and Croatian Employers' Association. Discussions focused on policy instruments, the specifics of submitting BT applications, local challenges and solutions, and the impact of national legal frameworks on the development of business transfer. Considerable attention was paid to the ecosystem mapping plan and further mutual learning and staff exchanges between partners.

The meeting in Zagreb also provided a platform for a broader understanding of the European context. The partners joined the conference on the occasion of the presentation of the results of the Business Transfer Barometer (BT Barometer) in Croatia, familiarized themselves with the presentation and role of Transeo, and took part in a discussion on how different EU countries shape and develop their business transfer ecosystems. An important element was a study visit to HSM informatika, where participants were able to learn about a practical case of transferring a family business from parents to children.

This visit helped to deepen understanding of common challenges, agree on approaches, and outline the next steps in the implementation of the project. The knowledge and experience gained will serve as an important basis for further strengthening support for small and medium-sized businesses in REBTES member countries.
