#SmartTour Smart support for the digital transformation of tourism businesses in Côtes d'Armor
As part of exploring the best European practices in sustainable tourism development within the "Smart Tourism – Smart Destinations: Accessibility, Sustainability, Digitalisation, Cultural Heritage and Creativity (Smart Tour)" project, implemented under the Interreg Europe programme, we continue to showcase successful initiatives that help tourism destinations embrace digital innovation and strengthen their competitiveness.
One of these inspiring examples is Smart Support for Digital Transformation of Tourism Businesses in Côtes d'Armor – a comprehensive programme supporting the digital transformation of tourism businesses in the Côtes d'Armor department of France.
The initiative is designed to help tourism enterprises - including hotels, restaurants, visitor attractions, and other tourism service providers — make effective use of digital technologies to grow their businesses. Participants receive professional advice, tailored support, training, and practical guidance on adopting modern digital tools.
Particular emphasis is placed on strengthening digital skills, improving businesses' online presence, making better use of social media, digital marketing, online booking systems, and other digital solutions that enhance visitor engagement and improve the quality of tourism services.
Thanks to this approach, local tourism businesses have become more innovative, resilient, and competitive in today's tourism market. The digital transformation has also contributed to better visitor experiences, more effective destination promotion, and the development of a sustainable tourism ecosystem.
