#STEP-UP Skills Training for EU Projects – Upgrading Performance: STEP-UP project launched in Ivano-Frankivsk!
On 18 August 2026, the kick-off press conference of the international project “Skills Development for EU Projects – Enhancing Performance” (STEP-UP), implemented under the Interreg NEXT Romania–Ukraine 2021–2027 Programme, was held.
During the event, Yuliia Haiduk, Expert of the Interreg NEXT Romania–Ukraine 2021–2027 Programme Branch Office in Ivano-Frankivsk, presented the programme and its opportunities for the development of the cross-border region. Lidiia Cherevko, Head of the Project implementation office of the Department of Investment Policy, Projects, International Relations, Tourism and City Promotion of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council, presented the projects implemented by the Department with the financial support of the European Union. Daryna Pereviznyk, Project Manager, presented the project, its key objectives, activities and expected results.
The STEP-UP project aims to strengthen the institutional capacity of Ivano-Frankivsk and Botoșani County (Romania) by developing administrative and digital competencies, improving EU project management, and enhancing transparency and communication with the public.
Key project activities include:
- equipping a project office with modern equipment to ensure the effective work of the project team and Department staff;
- organising training sessions for City Council staff on project proposal writing, budgeting, working with electronic systems and other aspects of successful project implementation;
- developing a joint strategy and action plan together with partners from Botoșani County;
- organising joint activities to exchange experience, strengthen cross-border cooperation and promote common approaches to transparency and accountability;
- strengthening communication with the public and developing more open and effective governance practices.
The implementation of STEP-UP project is expected to strengthen the professional and managerial capacity of both partners and improve the quality of project proposals and project implementation.
