#SWEM Learning to Save Lives Starts Young!
On 16 July, a First Aid Training for teenagers was held in Ivano-Frankivsk as part of the "Sustainable Weather Emergency Management (SWEM)" project, implemented under the Interreg NEXT Romania–Ukraine 2021–2027 Programme.
During the training, participants learned how to respond in emergency situations and practiced the essential skills needed before professional medical help arrives. They were trained to recognize sudden cardiac arrest, call emergency services, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and place an unconscious person in the recovery position.
By equipping young people with life-saving knowledge and practical skills, these training sessions help build confidence, responsibility, and preparedness. In an emergency, a well-informed teenager can make a real difference and even help save a life.
