#SWEM Joint workshop in Ivano-Frankivsk!
On 18-19 November 2025, a joint workshop was held with representatives of municipal structures of the cities of Ivano-Frankivsk and Baia -Mare on environmentally safe methods of combating ice on roads as part of the project “Sustainable Weather Emergency Management (SWEM)”, implemented within the Interreg NEXT Romania-Ukraine 2021-2027 Programme.
The event was attended by representatives of municipal enterprises responsible for managing roads and pedestrian areas in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk. In addition to discussing environmentally friendly methods of combating ice on roads, participants also discussed with their Romanian colleagues the specifics of the Ivano-Frankivsk community's warning systems in case of deteriorating weather conditions and emergencies. Participants shared their experiences in combating bad weather and dealing with emergencies.
At the workshop, the partners shared their thoughts and proposals for further cooperation not only in the field of protection against bad weather, but also in other areas of meeting the needs of residents of both cities. Representatives of municipal enterprises also spoke about the specifics of their work in difficult weather conditions, technical support and the needs of enterprises during winter.
