#U_Lakes International exchange of experience within the UrbanLakes project

From 19 to 24 January 2026, as part of the UrbanLakes - Cross-border synergy for blue ecosystem preservation (U_Lakes) project, funded by the European Union through the Interreg Next VI-A Romania-Ukraine 2021–2027 programme, an experience exchange tour and a study visit to improve competencies were held to learn about good practices related to blue-green infrastructure solutions.

The events took place in the cities of Botosani, Suceava and Satu Mare (Romania) and brought together representatives of local authorities, experts and project partners to work together on environmentally sustainable solutions.

The visit programme included:

- learning about the experience of implementing blue-green infrastructure in urban environments;

- visits to nature conservation areas, urban green spaces and sites restored using ecological approaches;

- training sessions, professional discussions and networking on water conservation, biodiversity and climate change adaptation;

- exchange of practical experience between Ukrainian and Romanian partners.

Representatives of Ivano-Frankivsk took an active part in the events, gaining valuable experience and practical knowledge that can be used for the further implementation of nature-oriented and environmentally sustainable solutions in the community.

Such study visits are an important step towards strengthening cross-border cooperation, exchanging experience and forming common approaches to the sustainable development of cities and regions.
