#U_Lakes United for green and comfortable cities

2026.10.27

On 22–23 October, Ivano-Frankivsk hosted the forum “Urban Green and Blue Infrastructure: From Action Plans to Real Change” within the “UrbanLakes: Cross-Border Synergy for Blue Ecosystem Preservation” project, implemented under the Interreg NEXT Romania–Ukraine Programme.

Representatives of Ukrainian and Romanian communities exchanged experience in managing urban parks and green spaces, discussed practical environmental solutions, and explored the Joint Action Plan for biodiversity conservation and the development of green and blue infrastructure in Ivano-Frankivsk and Botoșani.

The second day of the forum focused on field visits across the city. Participants visited Taras Shevchenko City Park of Culture and Recreation, the Municipal Children’s Ecological Station, and Molodizhnyi Park to learn about practical approaches to preserving and developing green spaces.
