#U_Lakes Third stakeholder meeting: joint action planning for the German Lake

2025.11.12

On November 11, the third stakeholder meeting was held as part of the UrbanLakes - Cross-border synergy for blue ecosystem preservation (U_Lakes) project, funded by the European Union through the Interreg NEXT Romania-Ukraine 2021–2027 programme.

The event took the form of a facilitated working session, where participants - representatives of local authorities, universities, NGOs, environmental initiatives, and educational projects - jointly developed an action plan for the conservation and development of the blue-green infrastructure of the German Lake.

After presenting the concept of the action plan, participants discussed how nature-based solutions can help preserve the lake's ecosystem, support biodiversity, and make the area attractive to residents and visitors to the city. In group work, ideas were formed on caring for plantings, creating safe bird watching areas, maintaining the ecological balance of the reservoir, and developing nature education routes.

The meeting resulted in the agreement on the future structure of the action plan for the German Lake, which will be further refined. The next step will be to create a visual action map that will bring together all the initiatives developed and reflect a shared vision for the preservation of the aquatic ecosystem.
