#U_Lakes Joint Working Group Meeting Held in Botoșani

On 3 June 2026, a meeting of the Joint Working Group on Blue-Green Infrastructure took place in Botoșani, Romania, within the framework of the project “UrbanLakes: Cross-Border Synergy for Blue Ecosystem Preservation”, implemented under the Interreg NEXT Romania–Ukraine Programme.

The meeting brought together Romanian and Ukrainian experts to discuss the progress achieved so far and coordinate the next steps in project implementation.

A key focus of the meeting was the preparation and finalisation of the Joint Action Plan for biodiversity conservation and sustainable management of blue and green infrastructure in Botosani and Ivano-Frankivsk. Participants reviewed the developed materials, discussed expert recommendations, and agreed on the next stages of refining the document.

The participants also exchanged experiences on nature-based solutions, blue ecosystem conservation, and the integration of blue-green infrastructure into urban environments. In addition, discussions covered the further preparation of the Joint Action Plan for publication.

The meeting served as an important platform for cooperation and dialogue, helping to strengthen a shared vision for the sustainable development of blue-green infrastructure and to define future actions within the project.
