On Tuesday, December 12, 2023, a significant event for Ukrainian tourism took place in the city of Chernivtsi – the First National Tourism Summit.
The city of Ivano-Frankivsk was represented by the deputy mayor Svyatoslav Nikorovych and the head of the department of international relations, tourism and promotion of the city Ulyana Basarab-Hanchak. Participants had the opportunity to listen to interesting speakers from Ukraine and Europe and take part in informative panel discussions.
Representatives of international tourist organizations, members of parliament, delegates from territorial communities, representatives of the European U-LEAD support project, leaders of international non-governmental partner organizations and relevant experts discussed:
- the most effective attitudes and tools for recovering the tourism sector in challenging conditions amid the war with russia;
- the concept of creating memorial tourist routes and the memorialization of historical events related to the victorious fight of Ukrainians against Russian invaders;
- strategies and projects for deeper integration of Ukraine into the European tourism space;
- approaches to the development of business in the tourism sector and improvement of infrastructure;
- sdeas for forming unique tourist destinations and products in different regions.
