#URBforDAN Final conference of partner cities within the framework of the project

       The final conference took place as part of the implementation of the transnational project "Management and Use of Urban Forests as Natural Heritage in Danube Cities". After three years of collaborative work on the Project, all partner cities met in Ljubljana (Slovenia) to present the final results and summarize the work towards preserving the ecosystem of urban and peri-urban forests.

      The delegation of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council, headed by the Deputy Mayor Petro Shkutyak, took part in a two-day discussion on issues of urban and peri-urban forest management, the impact of human activity and the global pandemic on their development, searching for solutions to existing problems, and outlining future prospects.

        The achievements in implementing activities and setting up recreational areas on the territory of Vovchynetskyi Hill in Ivano-Frankivsk were presented by the project manager @Uliana Sydor. During the conference, the winners of the "Best Idea Content" competition were also awarded, where the idea of creating a "Cultural Forest" on Vovchynetskyi Hill by @Vitaliy Pasenyuk took 2nd place in the overall ranking of submitted ideas. The project became our first major experience in participating in the Danube Transnational Program and expanded the boundaries for future international cooperation.

       The project "Management and Use of Urban Forests as Natural Heritage in Danube Cities" is being implemented under the Danube Transnational Programme, financed by EU funds. The responsible partner for the implementation of the project activities in Ivano-Frankivsk is the Department of Investment Policy, Projects, International Relations, Tourism and City Promotion of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council.
