The final conference of the program
Today, on April 17, 2024, the final conference of the Joint Operational Program Romania-Ukraine 2014-2020 took place in Suceava, Romania. During the event, the Director of the Department Ihor Popadyuk and the Head of the Project Management Department Lida Cherevko presented the projects "Safe Future" and "ALTERA - Alternative Therapies in Maramures and Ivano-Frankivsk", which have been successfully implemented in our city. And Svitlana Kryvoruchko, Director of the Department of Economic Development, Ecology and Energy Saving, spoke about the stages of implementation of the project "Back to Our Common Roots" (ROOTS).
The conference was marked by the active participation of representatives of the program management structures, funding beneficiaries, representatives of the European Commission, as well as representatives of regional and local organizations from Romania and Ukraine.
The participants of the event were able to share experiences and best practices aimed at joint development and improvement of the quality of life of the residents of the program area.
As a reminder, the Safe Future project has built data centers in each of the partner cities: Ivano-Frankivsk, Solotvyno, Baia Mare, and Sighet. The centers' activities are aimed at preventing dangerous situations in the city and responding immediately when they occur, and through cooperation between partner cities, they are designed to help fight cross-border crime.
Project budget for Ivano-Frankivsk: EUR 643,782.
In turn, the main result of the ALTERA - Alternative Therapies in Maramures and Ivano-Frankivsk project was the creation of a rehabilitation center for alternative therapies in Maramures County, as well as at the City Children's Clinical Hospital of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council. Both centers specialize in the rehabilitation of children with diseases of the musculoskeletal system and central nervous system.
Project budget for Ivano-Frankivsk: 358,700 euros.
The ROOTS project pays special attention to promoting the common tangible and intangible cultural heritage in the partner cities of Botosani (Romania) and Ivano-Frankivsk (Ukraine). As part of its implementation, the City and Weapons Museum is being arranged on the territory of the Potocki Palace.
Budget for Ivano-Frankivsk: 318,987.72 euros.
Today's conference was an important step in strengthening the cooperation between Romania and Ukraine in the framework of cross-border cooperation and confirmed our efforts to achieve common goals in the field of sustainable development.
