WM4U – Waste Management Strengthening Program in Ukraine (2024–2027)
Last week, as part of the implementation of the WM4U – Waste Management for Ukraine program, a delegation from Sweden paid an introductory visit.
This visit marked an important milestone in establishing international partnerships and sharing experience in the field of sustainable municipal solid waste (MSW) management. Ivano-Frankivsk and the Ivano-Frankivsk region have been selected as a pilot area for implementing changes in the MSW management system. The active phase of developing and implementing a new waste management model is beginning, based on European approaches, modern technologies, and the principles of a circular economy.
A particularly important component of this process is effective communication and cooperation with territorial communities in the cluster, as well as with international partners who possess extensive experience and proven success in waste management.
It is through joint efforts, knowledge exchange, and the adoption of best practices that systemic change can be achieved, paving the way for a sustainable environment for current and future generations.
